Canon PIXMA G3200 Printer Reviews– The Canon PIXMA G1200 magazine, a standalone model, the G3200 is one of the Canon MegaTank G-Series machines designed to compete directly with Epson’s Biotank and Brother’s INKvestment printers, such as the expression et-2550 all-in-one and the MFC-J985DW XL printer, respectively.

Like the G1200, the G3200 prints exceptionally well, especially the photographs, and its management expenses are highly competitive. It comes without an automatic document feeder (ADF) for sending the original MultiPage to the scanner, a feature that any $300 inkjet AIO should come with. That and a missing mobile connectivity feature or two, and its lack of fax functionality, are just enough to avoid replacing the Brother model as Editors’Choice as an inkjet AIO for use in a small, home, or micro office.

Design and Features
As Epson’s all-in-one printers, G-Series printers Avoid ink cartridges for the ink bottles, which you use to fill the tanks that hold enough ink to print thousands of pages (depending on what you print, of course). But unlike competing biotank printers, the tanks on the G-Series printers are integrated into the front of a completely new design chassis, not connected to the side of an existing design. There is a large black ink tank on the left side, and the other three (cyan, magenta and yellow) containers reside right. Although both the methods of the tank and MegaTank work well, the front built-in tanks make G-series machines a little better-looking and make it more convenient to control the ink levels. In Both cases, however, looking at the machines themselves is the only way to measure the remaining ink levels, even if the G-Series machines warn you when one or more inks are critically low.

At 6.5 by 13-inch 17.6 (HWD) with its trays closed and weighing 12.7 pounds, the G3200 is compact and light. It’s about the same size as both the Epson et-2550 and the brother MFC-J985DW, and a couple of pounds heavier than the first and about 6 pounds lighter than the latter. All three models are small enough to fit on the average desktop. Unlike the standalone PIXMA G1200, which comes with USB-only connectivity, the G3200 supports Wi-Fi and USB, as well as some mobile and cloud connection options through Canon pixma Print and Pixma Cloud Link Apps for both IOS and Android devices. You do not get Wi-Fi direct or near communication field (NFC), though. Both Brother and Epson models discussed here are equipped with Wi-Fi Direct; The MFC-J985DW also supports NFC, and has Ethernet, which makes it more suitable for offices with wired networks.

Like the PIXMA G1200 and other G series models, the only G3200 paper source is a tray that extends upward from the back of the machine and contains 100 sheets (or 20 sheets of photographic paper); The output tray pulls out from the front. With both trays extended, the footprint is a bit bigger, but not enough to matter for most desktops. To get an ADF from a MegaTank model you have to step up to the G4200. Control Panel, compared to what you will find on different competing models, it is skinny, consisting of only five buttons-power, WPS (Wi-Fi protected Setup), stop, black and color-and four status LEDs: On (Power), Wi-fi, alarm and ink. (Most $300 AIOs today are equipped with color touch screen for configuration and machine management.) In addition, flash memory devices are not supported. It is also worth emphasizing is that all the G-Series printers Support Instagram 5-by-5-inch photo format.

Setup and Software
Setup was quick and simple, though a bit different from most inkjet printers. As with models similar to Epson’s tank, not only do they fill the ink tanks from the bottles, but the G-Series printers also require you to install two printheads (or cartridges, as they call them Canon). A print head is for black ink and the other one handles the other three colors. In any case, dumping the ink in the C
